Building A Portfolio
Community lead at PWA Philippines Mr. Andresito De Guzman was the speaker at the recently concluded webinar on building a portfolio organized by Scripted last 4th of December via Google Meet.
Though curriculum vitae are still used, it is being replaced by online portfolios due to their flexibility in presenting one's performance and previous work. Online portfolios are not only convenient for those who are seeking new opportunities, but also for employers who are looking for new talent. By having an online portfolio, employers can easily access an individual's work and get a better sense of their skills and abilities.
There were numerous websites that were specifically used for creating online portfolios. Once a medium was chosen, start compiling the achievements that are relevant and eye-catching. However, Mr. Andresito said that compiled achievements are eye candy, it is best to write articles on how you have done the project including the thought process.
The webinar organizers have chosen a great and effective speaker. He fits best for teaching the subject at hand. The speaker's credentials and experience in the field are impeccable and his delivery is engaging and informative. The participants are learning a lot from the webinar and are highly satisfied with it.
I would suggest making it an actual workshop for portfolio creation—the participants will present a mock-up portfolio and the speaker will judge if it is compelling. This way, the participants can get immediate feedback on their portfolios and learn what should be improved.
