I. Details of the event/activity

The Internet of Things (IoT) has been a part of our lives since its introduction to people. The IoT has the potential to change the way we live, work, and play. It can make our lives more convenient and efficient. IoT: Endless Possibilities is a webinar conducted by Team pixelPlay last December 22, 2022, at 2 in the afternoon with Mr. Juan Paulo Pineda, MIT as the resource speaker.

II. Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)

IoT is advantageous against human workforce in many ways. 1) accessibility to information anytime anywhere on any device, 2) improved communication between connected electronic devices, 3) transferring data packets saves time and money, 4) task automation, and 5) reduces need for human intervention. Futhermore, one participant asked with regards to the risks of IoT where Mr. Pineda answered with, "as long as the data are secured."

III. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learnings)

As a future IT professional, it is imperative to improve or invent a multitude applications that caters and resolves issues in the daily lives of humans. Thus, with the help of IoT, carrying out tasks that may need physical element can be enhanced by the IoT—incorporating its beneficial nature to our current situation. IoT can be used to its full potential in areas that may need physical intervention. For example, in the area of healthcare, by providing data that can be used to improve patient outcomes and by providing information that can be used to make better decisions about care. Additionally, in the area of manufacturing, IoT can be used to improve quality control and to optimize production processes. In the area of transportation, IoT can be used to manage traffic flow and to reduce congestion. Ultimately, the goal is to use IoT to make our lives easier and to improve the efficiency of our systems.
