Responsive Layout Using Flexbox

Responsive Layout Using Flexbox

Reflection Paper #2 - As Organizer

I. Details of the event/activity

We, fourth-year IT students, are now slated to be web developers after graduation, therefore "Responsive Layout Using Flexbox" is a topic that has to be discussed. pixelPlay organized the event, and Mr. Lawrenz Diestro served as the resource speaker on December 1, 2022.

II. Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)

As the population of devices with varying screen sizes continues to grow, responsive layouts are much needed to provide an excellent user experience. Responsive layouts are designed to adapt to the user’s environment, whether that be a desktop, tablet, or mobile phone. This ensures that the user has a consistent experience regardless of the device they are using.
The webinar was very informative and taught developers and designers web development with the basics—HTML and CSS. I learned a lot from it and I'm sure others did too. The presenter was very knowledgeable and made the material easy to understand. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about web development.

III. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learnings)

The webinar was very informative and taught us a lot of lessons that will be helpful in the completion of our project. The tips and tricks that were shared will also be very helpful. Overall, we learned a lot from the webinar and we are very grateful for the opportunity to have attended it.
The knowledge we have gained from our this can also be used outside of school to create an online portfolio. This portfolio can be used to showcase our work to potential employers or clients. By having an online portfolio, we can show our work to a wider audience and potentially get more exposure.

IV. Positive feedback (on the event organization)

Utilized background music, a brief break in the middle of the lengthy coding session, and other time management techniques to keep the audience engaged and attentive.

V. Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities

Though it was only a webinar, it would be more engaging if there are outputs to be submitted from the participants. It would be more beneficial if the participants are given the chance to share their ideas and thoughts about the webinar's topic. This way, they can be more active in participating and be more engaged in the discussion.
